I love discovering and sharing ideas and insights about recovery. This week I came across a new-to-me phrase you might find helpful: The CHIME Model.
This concept comes from a 2011 study (Leamy et al) that looked at the common elements of various successful approaches to mental health and recovery. Even though personal experiences and details can vary greatly, many similarities exist. These boil down to five themes that are expressed by the acronym CHIME, which stands for:
– Connection
– Hope
– Identity
– Meaning
– Empowerment
If you’d like to hear more, I discussed the concept in this week’s episode of Tiny Bubbles, the new spin-off podcast from The Bubble Hour. You can listen here: https://link.chtbl.com/fPq8mhl2

I even made some free goodies for you, to help you remember and use the CHIME concept.

If you haven’t listened to Tiny Bubbles yet, you’re in for a treat! This new little pod gives you a quick boost of encouragement on the go. I’ve made 15 episodes so far and the show has been hitting the top 100 on a regular basis!

Thank you for having the foresight to blog your sober journey and help someone like me with your inspiration.
I am 64 and have had a few sober years in my forty’s and one year when I turned 60. However, following that one year sober I told myself I I had the ability to go without anytime I wanted, thus giving myself permission to drink any time I felt like it – and oh boy I have done!
I binge drink now which worries me greatly. I have no moderation button. It’s all or nothing!
Today on Monday 14th October 2024 I am going for the ‘Nothing’ – I am declaring that here and I believe with your guidance and inspiration I will achieve it. Namaste

This framework is so important. It’s great that you share all of the methods available since some people get so caught up on 12 step programs being the only framework.

I don’t remember when I started following your blog. Sadly sometimes I just delete stuff, but today I clicked on it and read it. I’ve been thinking lately it’s time to reevaluate my life with alcohol. I listened to a wonderful book Quit like a women by Holly Whitaker. Which lead me to another book I just got . I’m going to order your book too. Thanks!
